Tips for Family / Teen Stocking Stuffers
For our family, we always “open” our stockings first thing on Christmas morning. After stockings, we typically eat a small breakfast of cinnamon rolls and sometimes a quiche. Then we move on to the wrapped Christmas gifts.
My brother-in-law’s family wraps each of their stocking gifts in small packages to prolong the opening and make things more of a surprise. What does your family do? Here are a few tips I’ve picked up over the years.
- Buy small items over time but keep them all located in one place so you don’t go overboard.
- I have grocery bags for each family member so as I buy stuff I place it in the bag which is hidden away with the gifts. That makes Christmas Eve stuffing smoother as well!
- If you have multiple kids, try to vary the gifts some so that they’re not all discovering gifts they already saw their sibling find. If you do have duplicates, try to pace your kids so that they uncover the duplicate gift around the same time. Or mix it up and just let the morning go how it goes!
- Have a box or bin nearby for your teen’s stocking stuffer gifts for transporting to their room. I can’t tell you how many years it took me stepping over piles of candy and knick-knacks for a day or two to discover this tip!
