Countdown for Christmas Book Reading Tradition
Sneak peek surprises today! I’ve got the inside scoop on the new Christmas book and interactive toy that Hallmark created for this upcoming Christmas season. These products won’t be available until November 1st, so I’m excited that I get to be one of the first to show them off.

One of the reasons I requested to take part in this campaign is because we LOVE Christmas books! Last year we started the Countdown for Christmas book reading tradition and it was a big hit with our girls. Have you heard about the nightly Christmas book reading tradition? You start by collecting 25 Christmas books, then read one a night from December 1st to 25th. Some people choose to wrap each book individually, while we add all our books to a big cloth bag and grab one from the bag each night.
I can’t wait to add this new Hallmark Once Upon A Northpole Christmas book to our countdown collection! The illustrations look beautiful, and I know my girls will have fun looking at all the details on each page. Along with the book is a special glowing snowflake ornament that “helps Santa find you”. The light up snowflake plays a special part in the Once Upon A Northpole Christmas book. I can guarantee our snowflake light ornament will be glowing on Christmas Eve!
Hallmark has also created the perfect toy to go along with your Christmas book reading countdown. The Northpole Communicator works for the 25 days of Christmas from December 1st to December 25th. Kids can dial in to the Northpole and talk to elves and even Santa during the days leading up to Christmas. What a fun activity to do before bed and before reading your Christmas book!
Will you be participating in a Christmas book reading tradition?
OMG, we need this in our collection! We also do the 25 days book countdown.
That’s great Amy! Hope your kids love reading it with you!
This is such a fun idea! I’ve heard about it over the last few years and while we do have lots of Christmas stories we read and love I hope to get up to 25 some day! :D
It’s such fun Nicole! I actually was able to create a collection in one year for us by shopping second hand. I wrote a whole post about it even! :) https://stuffedsuitcase.com/5-ideas-collecting-books-for-christmas-reading-tradition/
That’s awesome! I actually got to pick up a BUNCH of Christmas books this summer when our library had a .25 cent sale :D I’m excited to digging them all out, and pairing them along with our current to see how many I’m up to–I’m a huge 2nd hand shopper, it’s so much fun!
