Today is the start to the 2014 Read & Go Summer Reading Challenge. I can’t wait to discover new books and explore fun activities with my girls. I hope you’ll join myself and Walking on Travels as we dive into some new books and activities ourselves and with our kids. The great thing about the Read & Go Challenge is that kids, adults, and families can all take part in the adventure.
If you have kids, I’ve created a fun activity book for them. My hope is that your kids (and my own) will be excited to explore each activity and complete each “task” for the week and log their successes. At the end of the six-week journey, we’ll have an award certificate you can print out for your children to congratulate them on their accomplishments.
(designed to print as a half-page folded booklet – choose to print on both sides & flip on the SHORT edge)
The activity book isn’t just for kids though! Each week has three tasks that I hope will help give you ideas on how to spend family time together and start your summer off right with some great memories.
Whether you’re doing the Read & Go 2014 challenge with your family or by yourself, we want to celebrate summer with you. Please share your photos with us and use the hashtag #ReadGo2014. We’re looking forward to seeing the books you’re reading and the activities you’re enjoying.
Check back often to see our own books, lists, and tips about our summer reading challenge themes, beaches, cities, nature, cooking, animals, and crafts.
