February is Seattle Museum Month with Half-Price Admission
If you’re planning a trip to Seattle in February, I have got a huge tip that will save you money on your tickets to local museums. You’ll be able to get into places like Chihuly Garden and Glass, the Seattle Aquarium, and MoPop for HALF-PRICE!
To celebrate the ending of the first semester and to get ready for the final push of the school year we planned a teen staycation to experience Seattle Museum Month. Thank you to Visit Seattle for hosting us during our trip.
What is Seattle Museum Month?
February is Seattle Museum Month in Seattle. It means that if you stay overnight in one of the participating hotels you’ll be given a Stay + Play Museum Pass that will get you half-price admission, for up to four guests, for the entire month. And there are a lot of great hotels and museums that participate.

Participating Museums
Chihuly Garden and Glass
Seattle Center, Seattle
We visit Chihuly for the first time as part of this teen staycation and we were so amazed. The craftsmanship and artistic detail is really quite amazing. We went to the Museum of Glass (see below) before Chihuly and I highly recommend this if you’re able. It makes the art so much more real for kids and adults when you can see the artistic process in action.
Chihuly is at Seattle Center, so it’s a great museum to visit if you’re visiting the Space Needle or MoPop. If you’re planning to visit the Space Needle and many of the top Seattle museums (Chihuly, MoPop, Seattle Aquarium), it might make sense to buy a CityPASS which gives you entrance to five attractions for only $89 adult / $69 child.

Museum of Glass
1801 Dock St., Tacoma
Watch contemporary glass history in the making as our Hot Shop Team, in collaboration with Visiting Artists, demonstrate the fascinating process of creating works of art from molten glass. Live glass demonstrations occur every day we’re open and give you a better understanding of how the objects you see in the Museum were made. In addition to the Hot Shop, there are exhibits that show amazing glass art pieces.

Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI)
860 Terry Ave. N; Seattle
MOHAI walks through the history of the development of Seattle. From an age when Native American cultures first came into contact with Europeans to the region’s transformation into a major global hub. Find out how the city rebuilt after a devastating fire, made a fortune in a legendary gold rush, reshaped its natural setting, boomed during two World Wars and two World’s Fairs, and challenged the status quo in the 20th century.
Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP)
Seattle Center, Seattle
MoPOP is a unique museum that celebrates American pop culture. They have different sections about science fiction and music and even have a current exhibit about Marvel.
Pacific Science Center
Seattle Center, Seattle
If you have kids, the Pacific Science Center is a great museum to visit. There are a lot of hands-on exhibits about science, dinosaurs, butterflies, and the body. They also have an IMAX and rotating exhibits.
Seattle Aquarium
Pier 59, Seattle Waterfront, Seattle
The aquarium is on the waterfront and features a few exhibits, many about the sea life of the Puget Sound area. They also have otters and sea lions. The full wall aquarium and Giant Pacific Octopus exhibit are always big hits.

Hotels for Seattle Museum Month
Embassy Suites by Hilton Seattle Downtown Pioneer Square
255 South King St, Seattle
We had an amazing stay at the Embassy Suites Pioneer Square! The hotel is not what you’ll think of as Embassy Suites. It’s a 23-floor highrise hotel with rich tones in the rooms and the wonderful complimentary breakfast buffet.
They also have an enclosed rooftop pool on the 8th floor which was a huge hit with the girls. We utilized Lyft and walking to get around the city during our getaway. Lyft has a discount code in the Stay + Play booklet that gives you three rides at 20% off.
