We’re on the Hunt! Great Northwest Glass Quest 2015

Today marks the first day of the 6th Annual Great Northwest Glass Quest and we’re going on a treasure hunt! This will be our first time participating and we’re ready for an adventure. The girls are out of school for a long weekend break, so my friend and I thought this would be an ideal activity to do with our kids during their day off.

Great Northwest Glass Quest – Stanwood & Camano Island, WA

The Great Northwest Glass Quest is a brilliant tourism campaign designed by a collective of Stanwood and Camano Island businesses to help people discover the beauty, features, and businesses of the area.

As you Quest for beautiful hand-blown Glass Treasures, we invite you to explore all that our community has to offer. Set against the back-drop of snow-capped mountain peaks of the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, and the beauty of Saratoga Passage, the Stanwood- Camano community offers quiet winter beaches and quaint locally owned shops, gem-like parks, and a community-built playground just for kids. You’ll discover a wonderful community with rich heritage, a vibrant modern art scene, and outstanding natural surroundings. — Great Northwest Glass Quest

Wondering how you participate? Start off by getting a guide with a map from online or one of the participating information locations. Once you have the map in hand, you’re ready to hunt! Signs in shop windows help you discover which businesses are participating and you can then enter and search for a “clue ball”. They request that as a quester you be respectful and mindful of the businesses and their customers during your hunt. You also can’t ask for any clues! If you are lucky to find a clue ball, then you can find the slip of paper inside and follow the directions to claim your prize. Your prize will be a limited edition, handblown glass treasure stamped with the 2015 logo, signed by the artist (Mark A Ellinger, Glass Quest Hand Blown Art Glass Studio), and marked with a unique number.
