Sending Our Christmas Joy with Minted.com

Opening Christmas cards from families far away and even those nearby is one of my favorite parts of Christmas as an adult. Seeing photos of our friends and reading snippets of their life stories are a great way to feel connected to the ones that matter. Sending our own Christmas cards is something I enjoy doing and this year we chose minted.com for printing our cards.

One of the features that drew me to choosing minted was the free envelope address printing they’re offering this year. Free! How many of you have purchased your holiday cards then watched them sit on your counter as you try to find the time to address them? The minted envelope address printing is a huge time saver, especially if you’re still needing to get your cards for this year! Last year I used labels and that helped some, but I thought the minted envelope printing was so beautiful when I saw it in their catalog, I knew I had to try it out.

I love the special touch it gives the cards and I have a thing for rose gold these days. We also chose to upgrade our paper to the premium 100% recycled paper, making a choice to be a little greener even at a slightly higher cost (it was about $15 more).

While the minted envelope design options grabbed me from the start, I also loved the choices they offer for the story backer on the card. Most minted card designs allow you to choose from a variety of backer options, some with a more photo focus or others with more room to write. We were able to share some snippets from our life this past year as well as share more photos of our family. I love this card option since I can send a beautiful photo card and share a story from our past year without having to write a “Christmas letter” to include in the envelope. That’s one extra step that would delay getting my cards in the mail, now with one order I’m done.

Return Address Label Wraps

To add a personal touch to the cards we ordered the return address label sticker wraps. These are styled to match your minted envelope design and it makes the whole presentation of your card look amazing. All that’s left now is to stuff the envelopes, wrap the return label, and add a stamp! I know that my cards will make it to my family and friends this year before Christmas. :)

delivery-estimate_headerYou still have time to receive your cards before Christmas with minted’s fast service. I chose to skip the proof and it saved us time and $10. Just make sure you have friend or family member review everything if you choose that option! Also be sure to look on minted.com for what specials they’re running. Right now they have 15% off $150+ with JOY15 or 10% off $100 with JOY10 (current as of 12/9/14, subject to change).

Kim, Love your cards! I just ordered some from Tiny Prints. The addressing option you received sounds amazing. I grew up in a missionary/pastor's family that always sent Christmas letters, and usually photos, so I have followed in my parent's footsteps and do the same. Hope you are enjoying this Advent season!

Thank you Gracia! I was really happy with the process and quality and love the added style touch of the envelopes. I think the tradition skipped a generation because my mother never did Christmas cards, however my grandmother and other family members did. Sending and receiving the cards during the holidays are a classic, simple joy and I hope it doesn't end!
