Driving the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer GT with SoFab On the Road Seattle
A couple of weeks ago I attended the SoFab On the Road Conference in Seattle. One of the highlights of the conference for me was being chosen as the Drive Shop ambassador for the conference, and getting to test drive the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer GT for the week. Seeing as I’ve been driving a small SUV and minivan for the last 10+ years, I was eager to get back behind the wheel of a car and share the experience.
Let me start off with noting that the Lancer has been an IIHS Top Safety Pick for five years in a row! The folks at Mitsubishi are doing their part to help families get into vehicles that will keep everyone safe. So, even with it’s sharp look and aggressive styling, the Lancer is safe for college kids and families alike. It also features a 5 year/60,000 bumper to bumper warranty which is about 2 years longer than most.

The interior is styled nicely and features a large 7″ HD touchscreen and integrated 3D maps. Audiophiles will love the Rockford Fosgate sound system paired with the SiriusXM® HD radio.
Enjoy the photos, and below I’ll share my final thoughts on what I liked and didn’t like in the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer GT.

PROS: I was really happy with the power and handling of the Lancer GT. Plenty of get up and go that will impress college kids and city dwellers alike. The climate control was impressive in it’s simplicity, one touch temp adjustment made it easy to fix if you were feeling a little warm or cold. Cargo space was impressive for a sedan, I easily fit a medium suitcase and two carry ons in the trunk. The trunk arms are a piston design that sits outside of the trunk, so you don’t loose cargo space when closing the trunk.
CONS: The Rockford Fosgate sound system, while awesome, seemed a bit over the top for the small sedan. The large trunk speaker does take a tiny bit of cargo space from the trunk. Having the USB port inside the glove box was awkward, not to mention the location of the port in the glove box was hard to access. I’d like to see them move it to the center stack or the front seat center console. I also had trouble getting the iPhone syncing to work and was unable to make calls with the bluetooth feature.
Driving the Lancer GT for the week was a great experience, and I loved being able to have a day trip with my mom after the SoFabUOTR conference. Here’s a video of the fun we had exploring in the Mitsubishi Lancer GT.
As a final note, part of my weekend escape included attending the SoFab University On the Road Seattle conference. This one day conference featured speakers and brands sharing how bloggers can work to create stronger content for your readers and sponsors. If you’re starting out with blogging or trying to do more sponsored campaigns, look for a SoFab On the Road conference near you, and go! One of our breakout sessions was all about video, so here’s a peek at the fun walking tour I did during my SoFab conference.
Thank you to Social Fabric and Drive Shop for choosing me to be an ambassador and sponsoring my conference trip. I received a conference ticket, one night hotel accommodations, and a one week test drive to facilitate this post. All thoughts, opinions, photography, and video is my own and unbiased.
What an awesome little car! We had a Galant for years and I loved it, Mitsubishi’s are great cars! I know my husband would love this one with all it’s bells and whistles!
I’ve never driven a Mitsubishi before Krista, but we really enjoyed the week we had it! The minivan just isn’t quite the same. :)
