Collecting Box Tops & Bonuses for Back to School

Our family collects Box Tops, does yours?

Our family has a great reason to love the Box Tops for Education™ program, it helped pay for new playground equipment for our school! When the school found out that one of their old swing sets no longer met safety regulations, the PTA stepped forward to raise money to help buy new equipment for the kids. One of their primary methods of raising the money was to encourage Box Tops collection from the attending families. Classrooms would win a prize if they collected the most for the month, and each month a new sheet would come home for families to attach their Box Tops onto. After two years of hard work and collection, our new playground equipment was installed!

Have you ever seen those pink and pencil badges on your morning boxes of cereals, or your favorite snacks? Did you know that each one of those represents 10¢ for your child’s school? There are over 80,000 schools that take part in the Box Tops for Education™, making it one of America’s largest school earning loyalty program. And, Box Tops for Education™ has donated over $525 MILLION dollars to schools since they began in 1996. That’s amazing generosity!

With a new school year beginning again, our family has been on the lookout for Box Tops products as we shop so that we can continue to help our school. On a recent stop at Walmart for some back to school snacks, the girls had fun locating products that had extra Bonus Box Tops. Each participating product we found accounted for 5 Box Tops, a bonus of 4, which equals 50¢ for our school!

I’m looking forward to creating a special spot to clip and store our Box Tops at home so I can turn them in and do my part in helping our school raise funds for programs for our kids!
