I’ve followed/implemented your lunch ideas last year with moderate success due to the cream cheese. I did that, and my boys hated it. In desperation this summer, I used ricotta cheese in place of cream cheese. Success. I had equal success with hummus.
Great to hear Kim! My girls love the garden cream cheese but I’m glad you found luck with ricotta and hummus. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for all the beautiful photos – I am trying to get mentally in gear for next week… Our school has a very strict policy against all nuts, and even soy butters and also granola bars or treats that aren’t labelled ‘nut-free’. I think the policy is a bit hard for the parents of new JKs, but everybody gets used to it fairly quickly. Suspect Items are sent home with a reminder note. The policy hasn’t given our nut allergy parents ANY false sense of security at all, that I can see. I would also add that the school has pretty good rules around hand washing after eating. I think your school is worried about parent backlash, and are taking the easy route…
However, I really just wanted to thank you for the ideas for my grocery list!
