Friday Faves 1: Leggings, Quinoa, and Zombies

Exciting day today! I’ve been thinking of this sort of series for a while, but haven’t made it happen…until today! My goal is to get a bit more of me into my blog world here, so this Friday Faves series is my answer. I also recently asked over on facebook what my followers were wanting me to share, and a lot of people love seeing cool new products, just like me. So, here we go!

I’m doing this as a vlog series, so I hope you’ll consider subscribing and following me on YouTube, but I’m also listing all the fun favorite things I talk about in the video below. The videos will go onto YouTube before the blog, so if you want to be the first, subscribe over on YouTube. :)

The Complete Book of Home Organization

by Toni Hammersley

When I first started blogging back in 2012 and full time in 2013, I fell in love with the organizing blog, A Bowl Full of Lemons. Now that blogger has a new book deal all about home organization. I really have to say that the quality of this book is great. Thick cover with metal edged corners, great photography, and a fun flip and read design, it’s the perfect useful coffee table book. One Pan Mexican Quinoa

see it on Pinterest

We’ve been so tired of the same old meals, and processed freezer meals so we’ve been hanging out on Pinterest finding some yummy sounding dishes. Sometimes they’re a hit, sometimes not so much. But I recently made this One Pan Mexican Quinoa dish from the blog D*mn Delicious, and it was a hit. Delicious and perfect for day after leftovers. The recipe really does only serve 4, we had 2 adults and 2 kids and only had a little left over.

LuLaRoe

LLR

Definitely my most favorite find of the week. LuLaRoe is a clothing line that is sold through consultants, think Tupperware, and it is the most amazing stuff. Their title product are their super soft leggings. If you’ve ever had a friend ask you to feel their leggings, they’re probably LuLaRoe. But you can also get cute tops, dresses, skirts, and cardigans, all in unique prints. What makes them so prize worthy is that they only make a limited number out of a certain fabric print. So if you see a print you like, you better grab it fast since you never know how many of that style and size were made. I’ve heard them mention about 1000 pieces in a print, but I’m not sure. Check out these consultant’s facebook groups: LuLaRoe Jana Seitzer, LuLaRoe Carey & Mariah.

littleBits

My girls have both fallen in love with these little circuit building toys. You can buy large kits, or individual parts, and kids can build and design all sorts of cool things. The kits come with sample builds, but my girls have been having fun just finding new ways to put the circuits together to do different things. Using voice control switches is one of their favorites! If you have a kid that loves science, coding, and STEM stuff, these are a great gift idea and boredom buster. littleBits is the fastest and most fun way to create with electronics. Create a circuit in seconds, no soldering required!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

I totally admit that even being a HUGE P&P fan, I never read this book. It just seemed way too far out of left field, and I’m pretty sure Jane would either be smirking or rolling in her grave. Now there’s a movie and I feel like maybe I need to read the book before the movie, but then maybe not!? I just don’t know. But I love Elizabeth Bennett, and if anyone can kick some zombie butt in regency England, I’m sure it’s Lizzy.

Well, there you have it, my first installment of Friday Faves.

I’d love if you’d leave me a comment below and tell me what you think of my new series and what is YOUR favorite fave from the week either of your own or from my list!
