American Girl Hotel Stay Package at Homewood Suites Lynnwood, WA

I’m so excited to share with you about our special experience we had for spring break this year! Our family had a little staycation and stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton® Seattle – Lynnwood with their American Girl hotel stay package. While I told the girls that we were staying in a hotel overnight, they had no idea about the American Girl package surprise. I did tell them they should bring Julie & Kit along for the trip. Once we arrived to our room and they saw the special treats, they were ecstatic! Here’s a peek at our stay with Homewood Suites and what we had with the American Girl hotel stay package.

When we first arrived in our room – we had these yummy cookie plates set out for the girls. Each plate included 2 iced sugar cookies, and a pretend milk glass & heart cookie for Julie and Kit.

The girls always love exploring our hotel rooms, so they didn’t hesitate to open the fridge and found some strawberry milks just for them! Love that the Homewood Suites by Hilton brand has kitchens in the rooms. Makes it so helpful for families, especially allergy families like ours!

The bedroom was very spacious! We had so much room to spread out and store our bags. Everything was very clean, and we all enjoyed our cozy room. You can see here that we had the American Girl package for both girls, so they each received all the flyers and activities as well as the doll bed.

Another feature that we really enjoyed was the separate living room. At night, the girls watched a movie in the bedroom (with their dolls), while we were able to chat and watch tv in the living room. Closing the door meant no sound interference and all of us were able to relax and unwind. I also really like the colorful, trendy palette used for the decor in the room.

We took a trip to the pool, and since we stayed on the weekend, the waterslide was running! They have to have a lifeguard on duty when the slide operates, so it only runs limited hours on the weekends, and if the lifeguard takes a break, the slide is closed. While the girls had a blast with the slide, and even William gave it a go, I felt the slide was a bit much for the pool size. Kids will love the spiral waterslide at the Homewood Suites Lynnwood. Just know it’s only open during certain hours on the weekends, and it limits some of the available pool space for kids who just want to swim.
Edited: the hotel has let me know that they are removing the waterslide this month (April 2015). You can still enjoy the pool, maybe even more so now, but just realize that there will no longer be a waterslide. I actually think this is a good move as it did greatly limit the pool play area, and I’m sure the safety concerns and lifeguard duty put unneeded stresses on the hotel operations.

Another amazing benefit of staying with the Homewood Suites by Hilton brand is the complimentary breakfasts. There’s just something special about not having to plan or figure out breakfast for your kids first thing in the morning. I also love getting my first cup of coffee as soon as possible!

Fresh fruit and juices

The breakfast offered fresh fruits and cereals as well as hot food options like ham, scrambled eggs, and hashbrowns. They were even kind enough to get Faith cereal from the back since we worry about cross-contamination with nut cereals in the cereal dispensers.

Here’s one of my favorite parts of the breakfast at the Homewood Suites Lynnwood, the dining room! Have you ever stayed at those hotels that have free breakfasts and you feel like you have to be a cheetah ready to pounce on an open table or chair? Not here. The dining room was open and inviting, the perfect space to perk up and start your day. In the weekday evenings (Mon-Thur) you can enjoy a light dinner and drinks here as well. Homewood Suites Lynnwood definitely got this space right.

Another perk of the American Girl package is the free movie rental. My girls chose the movie Kit Kittredge, and after popping some popcorn that was provided in our room kitchen, they snuggled in with Julie and Kit to watch the movie. That meant hubby and I were able to sit out in the living room to chat and relax.

Just a few added pictures of the girls enjoying their stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Seattle – North Lynnwood. The American Girl package was such a hit and it was a perfect getaway vacation!

  1. Looks like you had a nice relaxing time! I have all boys so no one in my house would be excited about the American Girl’s stuff…. the would have a blast on that waterslide though!

  2. This looks like so much fun! I don’t have girls, but I would’ve loved this for my special doll when I was a kid. My son has a bear that is his constant companion–if there were an option to do something like this for boys, I’d definitely plan that for him.

  3. We didn’t get into American Girl yet, but this seems like such a fun trip! I’m going to look more in to it. Thanks for a great family bucket list idea. :)

  4. We’ve stayed at a Homewood Hilton in McAllen Texas, it was quite a lovely stay. The kitchen and the pool were our highlights. My daughter doesn’t have an American Girl doll but I do see all the excitement when I pass by our American Girl Doll store in NYC. Looks like everyone had a great time!

  5. Wow, what a well done package in a beautiful hotel! Loved the waterslide. Your pictures are beautiful, as are your American girls.

    1. Thank you so much Robin for the sweet words! The waterslide was such fun but did really limit some of the pool use. I just heard from the hotel that they’re actually pulling the slide out because it’s too much for the pool size and safety considerations.

  6. Wouldn’t you know that just as I started reading this post, my daughter came into the room and now of course we’ll have to plan an American Girl Hotel Stay package some time. :) Looks like both girls and the parents had a good time! Great photos and a really nice video! Thanks for sharing.

    1. Ha! Funny Jolanta! It’s actually very funny that you said that because I was reading your Harry Potter post last night and my youngest said to me, “can we go there?”. Gotta check both shoulders next time I’m travel browsing! :)

  7. What a really wonderful package idea. I remember when my niece was young, she loved the American Girls – brilliant idea. Also that slide at the pool looks gorgeous too!

  8. This looks like so much fun! We have visited the American Girl stores and cafes in Chicago and New York so many times over the years – I’m starting to feel a little sad that my youngest has almost outgrown her dolls! I wish there would have been hotel programs such as this when my girls were younger.

    1. Thanks for commenting Lisa. I’m sure my girls would love to visit other American Girl stores! I think AG dolls are a great thing to put away for the next generation!

  9. Thanks for sharing this… I didn’t know our region had an American Girl store, much less this cool hotel package option. I am definitely going to surprise Elisabeth with an AG trip for her birthday in November. We are doing a homeschool academy (through our local public school system) this upcoming school year and they have an American Girls US History class, of all things! So the timing will be perfect. :)

    1. Hi Lisa, the best way is to ask the American Girl store directly who their partner hotels are. They used to list it on their site, but I’m not seeing it now. They normally only have about 3 partner hotels for each city/store.
