Easter Basket Ideas: Our Girls’ Basket Gifts

Easter is in two days, and I thought I’d share photos of the Easter baskets I’ve created for our girls. Perhaps it will inspire your own Easter basket ideas in case you’re still shopping!

One nice part about choosing the gifts for my daughters this year was their school scholastic book fair. They both picked out a list of items they’d like, and I let them buy half of their list. The other half I purchased without their knowing and stuck away for Easter gifts. It’s a great way to get a gift they want, and support your local school too!

In the Easter Baskets:

Outdoor Toy: this year I purchased a badminton set and a giant bubble wand, both from Michaels. Stores start stocking more outdoor toys this time of the year, so it’s normally a great thing to include.

Books: I love to read and I’m going to force pass that love onto my kids. That’s why they each have two new books in their Easter baskets this year.

Bookmark: these cute cat & dog bookmarks are so adorable. Goes along perfectly with those books… :)

Craft Toy: this year I found these Tapeffiti sets at Michaels. I love getting them some new craft activity to include in the basket.

Journal: picked up two monogram hard cover journals this year. Seems that paper and journals are always a hit for my girls.

Crazy Candy: you know how your kids always want that rediculous toy candy at the checkout? Well, what a perfect time to finally buy that silly candy. This year I chose these Peter Rabbit bubble gum machines for my girls.

Classic Treat: double crisp big bunny for my oldest, and bubble gum eggs for my youngest (allergy) kiddo.

Beauty: lip balms are a regular, but this year I picked up these nail files because they looked cute.

Toy: this year I purchased two things from the school book fair and I’m counting them as a toy. A reading light & timer for the youngest, and a puppy in a bag (I can’t believe I actually paid $10.99 for this thing) for the oldest. Both were on their wish lists and they think they didn’t get them.

Other ideas: legos, coloring activities, favorite snacks, washi tape, jewelry, trading/collector cards, card game, socks, magazine.

Hope this has given you some ideas for this year or next! You might want to use my Easter Scavenger Hunt to make the gift giving even more fun!

Wishing your family a blessed Easter!

This is a much better idea than the ones stuffed with penny toys that break in moments, and loaded with sugar, but mostly plastic straw in the bottoms. I love this basket plan, and am looking forward to sharing it with my family! Have you seen the DIY easter eggs with silk scarves or ties? No food colour needed at all, it's rather incredible.

What is the reading light/timer about? Is that so when I send the kids to bed and tell them they can read in their beds for x minutes, the timer actually enforces that? So cool! I need to get Nicholas a reading lamp for summer camp anyway... so cool!

Hi Kelly! Yes, I guess you can set the timer and the light will turn off when the time has expired. However, you can also just manually turn on and off the light. I'm not sure if the timer can be used to count up or just if it counts down to 0. Hope you have a great Easter!
