The 2023 Food and Wine Festival at Disney California Adventure Park (DCA) starts on March 3rd, 2023! Marketplace kiosks, food carts, and restaurants are open to serve up bite-sized tastes of California specialties.

The Disneyland Food and Wine Festival is one of my favorite times to go to the resort. Here’s your guide to the 2023 Festival, plus some helpful tips to help you enjoy your visit. I’m also including a useful printable planning worksheet you can download at the bottom of this post. This can help you plan what you want to eat and any must-see entertainment.

When is the 2023 Food & Wine Festival at Disneyland?

The 2023 Disneyland Food & Wine Festival runs from March 3rd to April 25th, 2023.

Where is the Disney Food and Wine Festival 2023?

Disney California Adventure Park is the location for the food and wine festival at Disneyland Resort in California.

With the current rules requiring reservations for the parks, be sure you have a park hopper ticket if you want to visit Disneyland and California Adventure Park on the same day. If you have a reservation for Disneyland, you won’t be able to enjoy the festival without having a park hopper since it takes place at the other park.

There is another Disney Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney World in Epcot in Florida. That festival takes place typically in the late summer to fall. 2023 dates have not yet been announced, but it will likely run from July to November.

What Is the Disneyland Food & Wine Festival?

The Disneyland Food and Wine Festival is a special event that takes place at Disney California Adventure in the spring. During the festival, there are food marketplace booths where you can buy California-sourced food and drinks.

The festival also features unique entertainment such as live musicians, cooking demonstrations, and cooking events for kids. You can also book special wine or mixology experiences (added fee & reservation required).

For nostalgic Disneyland visitors, the other big news is that Soarin’ over California comes back during the festival. This was the original Soarin’ ride that launched at Disney California Adventure. Soarin’ has now been changed to be Soarin’ over the World.

How Much Is the Food and Wine Festival at Disneyland?

Much of the entertainment for the Food and Wine Festival is included in your park ticket, which is one of the biggest costs for a Disneyland vacation. But one of the biggest expenses for the festival will be the food and drinks at the festival marketplace booths.

The main dishes, desserts, and non-alcoholic drinks at the marketplace booths are approximately $6.50-$9.00. Alcoholic drinks range from $13-$18. Here’s the full Disneyland marketplace menu.

There are also a couple of special events that cost extra and require reservations. It’s also good to know that if you do buy a ticket for a special event, you have to still purchase theme park admission (park admission isn’t included in special event tickets).

The Food and Wine Festival also welcomes back the original Soarin’ Over California attraction — replacing the newer Soarin’ Over the World. This attraction is included in your park ticket and is one of the eligible rides for Genie+.

What is the Sip and Savor Pass at Disneyland

If you plan to eat a lot, you might benefit from purchasing a Sip and Savor Pass. They cost $57 and come with eight “coupon tabs” that can be redeemed at the marketplace booths. They cannot be used for alcoholic beverages.

Magic Key Holders can buy a Sip and Savor Pass for $52 — a 10% discount. The pass will also have a special Magic Key lanyard that is different from the standard Sip and Savor Pass non-Key holders will get.

You can purchase a Sip and Savor Pass at multiple locations — Elias & Co, Festival Gifts, the Festival Marketplaces, Julius Katz & Sons, Rushin’ River Outfitters, Seaside Souvenirs, and the Sip and Savor Cart.

Is the Sip and Savor Pass Worth It?

If you do the math, the Sip and Savor Pass will only save you money if you plan to purchase food that costs more than $7.13 ($6.50 for Key holders). Most of the food dishes cost $8-$9, but some are less, and most of the non-alcoholic drinks are about $7.

Using your pass wisely, you could use the 8 tabs for all $8.50 items and that would give you a total savings of $11 or $16 for Magic Key holders.

This is one of my favorite parts of the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot in Walt Disney World! At Epcot, you can travel “around the world” tasting food from each country. In California Adventure at Disneyland, you’ll be able to buy small plates and drinks from themed marketplaces that feature California-grown ingredients and drinks.

There are 12 marketplace booths located along the main walkway from the front of the park towards the back corner near Goofy’s Sky School. The average price for the food at the Food and Wine Festival is $6.50 to $9.00, and alcoholic beverages range from $13-17.

Soarin’ Over California

In keeping with the California theme of the Disneyland Food and Wine Festival, they’ve brought back the original California version of the ride attraction, Soarin’. I love the new Soarin’ Around the World, but the classic Soarin’ Over California is really unique and special. This is a popular ride at DCA, so expect long waits or be sure to grab a Genie+.

Live Festival Music

Sit back and enjoy some live music while you sample your festival food and drinks. There are live musicians at various times at both the Paradise Gardens Park and back in the Paradise Garden Grill / Beer Garden area. You can find posted times and performer names once in the park.
