Here is a closer look at how I created my Olaf Halloween Bucket:

Supplies needed:

  • beach bucket/pail
  • batting
  • white fleece
  • cardboard
  • dark grey felt
  • white felt
  • orange felt
  • brown felt
  • large googly eyes
  • hot glue gun
  • Olaf visual guide (optional)

wrapping bucket in batting

Wrap your beach bucket/pail with batting

adding cardboard for olaf face

Hand cut Olaf face shape from cardboard and affix to bucket (I used wide masking tape). Mine was about 7″ tall and 4″ wide at smallest top point. Make sure you make your shape fit the size of your bucket.

wrapped in fleece olaf bucket

Wrap bucket and Olaf face front in white fleece (I obviously did a quick job and underestimated the face height). I also placed some school white glue on cardboard face front to help the fleece stick to the face.

inside olaf bucket

I chose to spray paint the inside of the bucket which I wished I would have done for the whole bucket. The yellow really threw off the look a bit even though it didn’t show through on the bucket parts. I used orange felt and rolled a long cone of sorts sealing with my glue gun. I then snipped the ends and bent them inward which I applied hot glue and stuck to the front of the face. I actually took it off right after placing because I felt the carrot was too long, but it left kind of a mess that bothered me a bit. Make sure you’re happy with the length before affixing! Place googly eyes right above and to side of carrot (I used the Olaf printable supply above to help me figure out where to place things. Next I eyeball hand cut the eyebrows from brown felt. The sticks on the top of his head is brown felt I manually cut then coated with white school glue and added lines of hot glue along the back to make it stand up.

Use the dark grey felt to cut his mouth (place felt on bucket and make marks where the width points are for top and bottom point, then rough sketch from point to point to point). Add a small piece of white felt or leftover white fleece to be his teeth. And you’ve got a fun Olaf Halloween Treat Bucket to join your Disney Frozen costume wearer while heading to a party or to trick or treat.
