Shooting Video and Taking Notes with the Samsung Galaxy Note5

I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Sprint. I received the Samsung Galaxy Note5 product to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

Recently I had the opportunity to test the Samsung Galaxy Note5 smartphone and it’s been my favorite android phone ever! Check out why this has become my new phone of choice and how it helps me stay connected and on task with my job as mom and blogger.

Note Taking

Whether making grocery lists, remembering an upcoming task, or taking notes in a meeting, the Note5 is a fabulous tool to have in your purse or pocket. I recently had a press trip where I had to take quick notes as our presenters spoke and the Note5 was my go to tool. All it takes is clicking the S pen out of the phone and you’re automatically given a blank page to start writing. No worries about digging for a stylus or pen, it’s stored in the phone. Then you can slip the S pen back in the phone and your note is automatically saved for later access. I found the stylus pen to work just like writing with a real pen, and the note taking seemed responsive and easy to erase any mistakes.

The camera on the Note5 does a fabulous job, it features a 16-megapixel, rear-facing camera and 5-megapixel, front-facing camera that can be launched from any screen by double tapping the Home button, which is great for those quick shots of the kids! The rear-facing camera also includes autofocus, Burst Shot, 8x zoom, LED flash and panoramic photo options. But my favorite part is the Pro camera feature that allows you to play with white balance, ISO, shutter speed, and even shoot with filters.

Videos

Next up for why I love this phone is the unbelievable 4K / UHD video capabilities. Just look at this bayou airboat tour video I shot. Don’t you feel like you’re in the boat with me?!

Video Highlights

Each day if you’ve taken a lot of photos or videos, the Note5 will create a special highlights video featuring some of your photos and video from the day. You can’t edit these videos, however you can create your own “event” and then it will create a highlight video for that event. Each video is set to music and lasts about a minute. It’s a fun way to see a special event captured in a video.
