Seattle Girlfriends Getaway to the Eastside – Bellevue & Woodinville WA

Recently my friend Kerri and I traveled to the eastside of Seattle for a girlfriends getaway. We had a great weekend away, shopping, eating, and wine tasting. Just in time for the holidays, here’s how to plan your own Seattle girlfriends getaway. I was provided complimentary accommodations and experiences for the purpose of writing this post, all thoughts and experiences are mine based on my own experience.

WHERE TO SHOP – THE SHOPS AT THE BRAVERN

Especially with the holidays fast approaching, shopping is always something better done with friends. And, Bellevue is the perfect place to plan a girlfriend’s shopping trip.

The Shops at The Bravern is the spot to find all your favorite luxury brand shops. Neiman Marcus, Prada, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, and more. Plus, they have an amazing Sur La Table store that will have you dreaming of cooking and baking.

Another spot you don’t want to miss is Bellevue Square. Featuring a major shopping mall with all your traditional favorite shops, you’ll also find some nice street shopping. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy lunch or dinner with a friends while checking off your shopping list, just be sure to add a little something for you too!

WHERE TO EAT

Vivo 53

This is a great Italian influenced eatery that serves a great brunch. I have to say that they have the best fresh squeeze OJ mimosa that I’ve ever tasted! They also have some pretty serious dessert sundaes, which I didn’t get to try, but would definitely say they’re photo worthy! [Vivo 53 in Bellevue WA]

Pearl Seafood & Oyster Bar

Another spot that’s in Bellevue Square, Pearl is the spot to feed your seafood craving. The atmosphere is an intimate, upscale setting, and they offer a nice variety of dishes. Of course, their fresh oysters are one of their signature offerings. [Pearl Seafood & Oyster Bar in Bellevue WA]

The Hollywood Tavern

One of my favorite discoveries on my recent girlfriend’s getaway trip was The Hollywood Tavern in Woodinville, WA. They’ve got a great menu, and feature some fun twists on american classic dishes. I have to say that their fried pickles appetizer is a new favorite of mine! [The Hollywood Tavern in Woodinville WA]

TIME TO PAMPER

A visit to the spa for a little pampering is one of the best ways to spend some time on your girlfriend getaway. We visited the Spa at Willows Lodge in Woodinville, WA for massages. In addition to our relaxing and therapeutic massages, we also took some time to sit by the small pool in their cozy garden courtyard.

I will note that before our treatments in the morning the spa was empty and it was a great time to relax and chat in the courtyard. After our treatments, more guests had arrived, so if you’re looking for solitary peace, schedule your appointments early in the morning.

WINE TASTING

Our final enjoyment for the weekend getaway was a wine tasting day in Woodinville, WA. We visited three very different wineries, and I’m happy to share what I thought of each of our three spots.

àMaurice

This was our first wine tasting stop, and a great tasting room located in the heart of downtown Woodinville alongside other tasting rooms. We had a fabulous customer service experience in the tasting room with the rep talking to us about each tasting as well as trying to get to know us better. In addition to the fabulous wines and customer service, you’ll also find some beautiful artwork showcased on the walls and bottles, created by their wine maker. [àMaurice in Woodinville WA]

Alexandria Nicole Cellars

This was one of my favorite tasting room experiences. It has a cellar setting, making you feel like you’re entering the wine catacombs for your tasting. I’ll note that it seems a busy tasting room and our customer service just consisted of asking for tasting pours. We didn’t have the conversational experience that we experienced at the other two tasting rooms. [Alexandria Nicole Cellars in Woodinville WA]

EFESTE

A family owned winery that showcases that family history all over the walls of their tasting room. I’ll admit that I was a bit thrown off that this tasting room was found in the industrial area of Woodinville, but when I realized they did that in order to be on site of their wine processing, it made sense. I loved chatting with Helen and Dan, the owners, during our tasting. They were amazingly gracious hosts with warm smiles, and a true passion for their wines.

EFESTE (pronounces like saying the letters, F – S – T), also houses food prep kitchen areas and hosts fun tasting events for members including pizza and wine nights. We happened to be tasting during a Seahawks game and so had fun nibbling and tasting while watching the game on their tv.

If you’re looking for a spot to stay during your Seattle girlfriends getaway, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Seattle Bellevue has a few features that work well for this kind of trip. First, they have connecting room options, so you can open the pass-through door and be able to move back and forth between rooms. They also are an all-suites hotel, meaning you have a living room area to chat and relax in the evenings. I do recommend bringing your own bottle of wine from a local winery to enjoy in the evening as the bar experience we had was not great.

A weekend full of chatting, shopping, eating, and wine tasting was the perfect way to reconnect with my friend. I highly recommend Woodinville and Bellevue for planning a Seattle getaway, and hopefully you’ll also find some fun experiences, great food, and time to reconnect.

Enjoy a weekend getaway from Seattle - perfect for planning a girlfriends getaway! With shopping, food, spas, and wine tasting - great way to reconnect and get away!

I've always been fascinated by the girls' getaway, as a restaurant server in college, and then as a concierge later in life. You approach it differently than men, in so many ways. So many great ways, I should add. Yours sounds classy, casual, quality ... and that you checked out some NFL action along the way, commendable.

(Even if it was the Seahawks.)

Thank you so my Eli for the insight and comments. I'm actually a KC gal, so the Chiefs are my team, but living in Seattle has given me a soft spot for those Hawks. :)
